THE NATIONAL SPORTS INSTITUTE OF SINT MAARTEN (NSI)

The National Sports body responsible for sports programs, such as; grassroots development programs, afterschool sports programs, elderly sports programs, sports programs for the physically impaired, and recreational sports in general. The NSI is also responsible for managing and maintaining the government-owned sports facilities.

Our main facility is considered the flagship of the organization. This sports facility is named after the late Mr. Raoul Illidge, who was a local philanthropist

LIONEL BERNARD SCOTT SPORTS AUDITORIUM

The main indoor sports facility. This facility was named after Mr. Lionel Bernard Scott. The history of what’s today the Lionel Bernard Scott Sports Auditorium started in 1971 with the building of an outdoor basketball court by Island Gem Enterprises.

MELFORD HAZEL SPORT CENTER

Our main facility is considered the flagship of the organization. This sports facility is named after the late Mr. Raoul Illidge, who was a local philanthropist

JOHN COOPER JOSE LAKE SR. BALLPARK

A baseball & softball ballpark in Philipsburg, in Sint Maarten the Dutch autonomous territory in the Caribbean. It consists of two pitches. It is currently used mainly for baseball and softball matches.

BELVEDERE SPORT PARK

The Belvedere Sports Park is a government-owned space that is being developed for multiple sports. The park houses the following sports possibilities.

The National Sports Institute is a government-subsidized NGO. However, the received subsidy is limited to the government’s own sport budget. The NSI cannot rely only on the subsidy but need to seek additional funding to realize the necessities for sport development in Sint Maarten.
